Friendsgiving- The celebration of Thanksgiving dinner with your friends!
We love hosting, maybe it is the party planners in us but we are always looking for a reason to have people over and find fun themes for each event. We started a fun tradition 3 years ago at my home(The C!) to have Friendsgiving. Every year it has become more elaborate and has grown in numbers! It is such a fun time to have all our friends in one room and celebrate the holidays. After Thanksgiving, everyone gets so busy with events and family gatherings that it is always a great excuse to have the last celebration before all of the holiday madness begins!
We decided to move away from the “typically fall colors” this year and really have fun with our Thanksgiving tablescape. Flowers are typically our go to but this year we wanted to mix it up. The blues and the greys were calling our name but we still wanted to incorporate pumpkins! While freezing we sat in Chelsea’s garage and sprayed over 50 pumpkins with these cool blue tones. We added in silver mercury votives and clear tapered votives from Barclay Event Rentals as well. The glow of the candles really warmed up the tables and brought a very cozy feeling to our dinner. A special added touch was the paper napkin rings that Crave Design printed up for us!
Friendsgiving is always done potluck style. Chelsea and Tyler typically handle the turkey and mashed potatoes while I usually run to Jo with Dream Cakes for a delicious cake. This year we went with her infamous carrot cake with toffee crunch, it is a show stopper! We love having our friends put love and care into the side dishes they prepare for everyone. The meal is always delicious!
We incorporated a dinnertime game this year! Each guest had an open-ended question card at their place setting. The questions were hilarious and the answers were even better. This was an awesome way to get everyone talking and laughing! The night always ends with beer pong and flip cup, because let’s face it, we are all still college kids at heart!
We hope you get some time this holiday season to celebrate your friendships, we are so grateful for ours! Cheers!!
